A quick guide

How to use this tool

  1. Check the example and the unit beside each input.
  2. Enter your values and choose Build.
  3. Review the result and assumptions, then copy what you need.

Reset example restores the starting values. Clear removes text and number inputs, returns choices to their first valid option, and removes the result.

Reference guide

Explanation and worked examples

The owner name, TTL, type and value are shown separately and as one zone line. This validates basic input shape only; confirm provider-specific entry format and query the authoritative DNS after publishing.

Use in day-to-day IT work

Prepare a DNS record for a provider change or zone-file review.

Checks before applying the result

  • Enter a full owner name, including underscores for records such as _dmarc.example.com. The output is absolute zone-file syntax; provider forms may require only the relative label.
  • Long TXT values are split into adjacent quoted strings in one record. Do not publish each string as a separate SPF record. Confirm CNAME coexistence and provider apex restrictions.
New to the terminology?
SPF
Sender Policy Framework: authorises sending hosts for a domain used by SMTP.
MTA-STS
A published policy for authenticated TLS delivery to declared MX hosts.
TTL
How long a DNS answer may normally remain cached.
