A quick guide

How to use this tool

  1. Check the example and the unit beside each input.
  2. Enter your values and choose Explain.
  3. Review the result and assumptions, then copy what you need.

Reset example restores the starting values. Clear removes text and number inputs, returns choices to their first valid option, and removes the result.

Explanation and worked examples

A step selects values within a field. It may not represent an evenly spaced elapsed interval across hour or day boundaries.

Use in day-to-day IT work

Draft a recurring schedule for a maintenance or reporting job.

Checks before applying the result

  • This tool uses numeric five-field cron in UTC. Windows Task Scheduler, Quartz and cloud schedulers can use different fields and semantics.
  • Set the actual scheduler timezone explicitly; test next runs and avoid overlapping jobs.
